The experience
How Smoothie Bikes Work
A stationary bike, a blender and a guest who wants a smoothie. Here's what happens at the station.
The pedal-powered blender
A smoothie bike is a stationary bicycle with a blender mounted on it. When the rider pedals, the motion drives the blender blade. Pedal harder and the blade spins faster. No electricity is needed for blending.

The guest experience, step by step
- An operator welcomes the guest and adjusts the bike if needed.
- Prepared ingredients go into the blender jug.
- The guest pedals until the smoothie is blended, often with colleagues cheering.
- The operator pours and serves the smoothie in a cup.
- The jug is prepared for the next rider.
What you need at the venue

- Shade or cover for outdoor events.
- Reasonable vehicle access for loading equipment.
- Any venue rules on food handling and waste, shared in advance.
